Some quick tips on how to make a good screencast:
Use a free screencasting app like monosnap, screencastify, or screencast-o-matic that provide you with cloud-storage space and allow you to generate a share link that we can post here in this video base.
You can also create an mp4 of your screencast and upload it to your college OneDrive account where you can generate a sharelink.
The screencastify Chrome extension in your browser allows you to use both an external mike and system audio in your recording as well as add lines, arrows, boxes, sketches, doodles, and things while you are recording and splice the final footage too. You can then export the recording in a multitude of different formats or generate a simple share link. It just requires a Gmail account. -> https://www.screencastify.com/blog/analytics-interactive-questions-new-in-screencastify
Tips: Run a few trials beforehand just to get the hang. Also while recording, use the "pause" button copiously, e.g. when you need to click into another webpage or change something on the desktop while doing your demo.
The pause button will simply cut out any long pauses and improve the flow. It will also allow you to take a breather during the recording. You don't need to do the entire recording in one single cut. You can even pause and go off to cook the dinner or do sth. else. When you come back you might even have some more fresh ideas to add to the recording.
You can switch quickly between the windows during your recording: Alt+Tab. On Mac it's CMD instead of Ctrl e.g. - CMD+Tab
Other handy key commands are Ctrl+B/U/I for bold, underlined etc., Ctrl+F to find sth, and Ctrl+X to copy and cut a text, so you can cut it and paste it elsewhere. And Ctrl+K is to insert a hyperlink into a highlighted text.
